Do you have any problem?

Hi everybody,

A few users reported some issues concerning our application. Do not worry, through investigation and thanks to their help, we were able to determine how to solve these issues.

Upload & Change Directory problem


One of the common issues mentioned is related to the "Upload" feature. Users noticed that nothing was happening when clicking on "Upload File" / "Upload Folder". The same thing can also happen when trying to change the Dropbox directory. Normally, when pressing these buttons, the Symbian native FileDialog should appear.

The reason for this problem lies on the Qt binaries on your phone. They are most likely corrupted. Therefore, to solve the problem, it would be recommended to follow the steps to get the Qt binaries into a stable state.
  1. Do a soft reset, dial *#7370#.
  2. Install the Ovi Suite on your PC
  3. Install the Qt SDK on your PC
  4. Choose Custom Installation
    Deselect all components and select only Qt SDK\Development Tools\Symbian Toolchains\Device Files
  5. Connect your device to the PC in "PC/Ovi Suite" mode.
  6. Install the required libraries to drive C when prompted on the phone: 
    1. Choose Start > Qt SDK > Symbian^3 Qt 4.7.3 > Install Qt 4.7.3 for Symbian^3 on Device. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Qt libraries to the device.
    2. Choose Start > Qt SDK > Symbian^3 Qt 4.7.3 > Install QtMobility 1.1.3 for Symbian^3 on Device and follow the instructions on the screen to install Qt mobility libraries to the device.
    3. Choose Start > Qt SDK > Symbian^3 Qt 4.7.3 > Install QtWebKit for for Qt 4.7.3 on Symbian^3 Device and follow the instructions on the screen to install QtWebKit to the device.
  7. Restart the phone
As an alternative for step 5, you can also copy the .sis files from <QtSDK_install_path>\Symbian\sis to the device and install them through the phone UI in the following order:
  1. Qt 4.7.3: Symbian^3\Qt\4.7.3\qt.sis
  2. QtMobility 1.1.3: Symbian^3\QtMobility\1.1.3\qtmobility.sis
  3. QtWebKit for Qt 4.7.3: Symbian^3\Qt\4.7.3\qtwebkit.sis
Note: Install the required Qt libraries on drive C

Login problem


Some of you encountered a connection problem while trying to log in. These users mentioned that the application was keeping displaying "Authorizing" and nothing more was happening.

This error is occurring because of a connection issue. It is most likely that the connection to the DropBox server fails.

Usually, simply restarting the application and trying again should solve the problem. If it's not the case, make sure to have a connection on and then try again. This should solve your problem

EDIT: In some cases, the log in button might not be activated. This means that you might have the prediction mode enabled. Please, deactivate it.

  1. QTWebKit.sis for 4.7.3 is only available by installing the QT SDK onto a PC. Could you post a link to that file here so we don't have to download the "whole" SDK for that one file? The Other QT installers are available online on the QT Website: http://labs.qt.nokia.com/2011/04/08/qt-quick-components-for-symbian-technology-preview/

  2. Unfortunately the files from your link are not recommended to install. It's not necessary to install the whole SDK, you can install only the components you like. Please check the updated blog entry.

  3. Thanks! I downloaded the components and installed all 3 components in the order mentioned. But I still can't change the Dropbox directory folder in the Settings. I have an N8 with PR1.2
    It doesn't matter much because the rest of the app works great!

  5. hi i have a Problem, i am trying to login but is just stands Authorizing fails.

    i have restarted the Phone but its steal not working.

    Help me.
